The Battle Creek team has deep community roots, supporting the city's Cereal Festival, local elementary schools, and hosting several on-site volunteer events throughout the year.
Responsibilities:
To Make Better Happen, we are hiring a Maintenance Materials Supervisor for our Battle Creek plant.
The Maintenance Materials Supervisor works in concert with operations management and maintenance teams to provide materials for the installation and repair of equipment.
The purpose of this job is to lead a team consisting of the parts cage attendants and receiving clerks in support of maintenance and manufacturing operations.
Coordinates activities of the CMMS administrator, mater data steward, buyers, and RAAMP.
The Maintenance Materials Supervisor is responsible for the integrity of Post Consumer Brand's CMMS system which is utilized by all PCB facilities as well as headquarters staff and is a designated super-user.
Additionally, the Maintenance Materials Supervisor is responsible for the procurement, inventory control and distribution of all parts and supplies related to equipment support and repair for the four Battle Creek Production Plants, Material Handling Center, Buffer Warehouse, Powerhouse and numerous site support facilities.
Key responsibilities include team leadership, inventory management and control, purchasing parts and materials, controlling purchase orders, budget and spend control, as well as to support food safety and quality practices as required through SQF.
The Maintenance Materials Supervisor is responsible for completing job duties in a manner that supports all plant safety, food safety, quality and environmental practices.
The Maintenance Materials Supervisor will use problem-solving skills daily.
The Maintenance Materials Supervisor will report to the Maintenance Manager, and as part of the maintenance leadership team, will participate in after-hours support rotation as needed.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities Provide supervision of stockroom personnel.
Plan, organize and validate the setting up and maintenance of the plant inventory system.
Ensure integrity of the CMMS system through coordination of the CMMS Manager, Master Data Steward, RAAMP, and buyers.
Determine ideal inventory levels to ensure production and protect long lead items.
Control costs through effective purchasing strategies and price negotiation.
Responsible for the ordering of routine/emergency replacement parts and supplies and expedite delivery.
Ensure proper and accurate files on purchase orders and receivers as well as parts lists.
Provide system management for Computerized Maintenance Inventory Management System.
Manage the storing, tracking, selling or disposing of surplus supplies and equipment.
Supervise personnel responsible for plant-wide parcel shipping and receiving service.
Provide parts and supplies consulting and specifying services to customers throughout the company.
Purchase and inventory plant safety supplies specified by Safety Department/Safety Committees and certain selected supplies for production and quality departments.
Complete projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
A minimum of 2 years post high school education in maintenance and/or purchasing OR commensurate work experience.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience Knowledge of basic engineering, electronics, hydraulics and pneumatics and fabrication principles.
Familiarity with computerized inventory systems and purchasing.
Minimum of 5 years experience in plant maintenance in a processing environment, including 1-2 years purchasing experience preferred Other Characteristics Strong communication and coaching skills.
Ability to work closely with peers and internal customers to share responsibility and solve problems.
Understanding of mechanical and electrical operation of production equipment and use of maintenance and diagnostic tools.
Must be able to read, write, and communicate in the English language Primary contact with Production and Engineering to solve maintenance problems, e.

replacement parts, part shortages, etc.
and provide information on cost, availability and alternatives.
Provide work priortization to CMMS Manager and Master Data Steward and other personnel as assigned.
Work with vendors to order parts, negotiate prices and expedite delivery of replacement parts; investigate better products, pricing or services.
Significant PCB relationship work with corporate sourcing and corporate maintenance to develop, critique and maintain purchasing and MRO corporate standards and policies.
Significant cross plant communication required with peer MRO supervisors and other plant buyers to support and assist in inventory and spare parts issues that occur.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
