Our client, a prominent player in the automotive manufacturing industry, is seeking a highly experienced Assistant Plant Manager to join their team at the Battle Creek, MI facility.
This position will have a growth plan to move into Plant Manager in a short period of time.
Position Overview:
As the Asst Plant Manager, you will be a pivotal asset to our clients leadership team.
You will be responsible for overseeing the daily manufacturing operations at the Battle Creek facility, ensuring the attainment of production goals, quality benchmarks, and safety standards.
Your substantial background in automotive manufacturing will contribute to the continuous improvement and expansion of our clients operations.
Key
Responsibilities:
Provide strategic guidance and leadership to the manufacturing teams, maintaining consistent achievement of production goals, quality standards, and safety protocols.
Collaborate extensively with cross-functional units including Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality Assurance, working to optimize production processes, reduce defects, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
Monitor and analyze critical performance indicators (KPIs) concerning production output, quality, cost, and safety.
Develop and execute action plans to address any identified areas of concern.
Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, implementing Lean and Six Sigma principles to facilitate operational excellence across the board.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of supervisors, engineers, and production staff, fostering a collaborative environment focused on professional growth.
Ensure strict adherence to regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and environmental standards within the manufacturing facility.
Oversee the development and management of operational budgets, identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or safety.
Participate actively in strategic planning initiatives, offering insights and recommendations to the Plant Manager and senior leadership in alignment with the companys growth objectives.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field.
A minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience within the automotive manufacturing sector, showcasing a consistent rise in leadership roles.
Thorough familiarity with automotive manufacturing processes, quality control methodologies, and lean manufacturing principles.
Demonstrated success in leading and nurturing high-performing teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to make informed decisions even under pressure.
Proven capability to drive operational enhancements, streamline processes, and achieve cost reduction targets.
Solid grasp of safety protocols and regulatory compliance pertinent to automotive manufacturing environments.
