Experience:
One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-13 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes:
Develops plans for accomplishment of assigned functions to meet priorities, deadlines and production goals established by higher levels of management. Identifies, tracks and assesses standard metrics for the software development process; participates in software quality assurance, configuration management and software risk evaluation activities. Oversees the activities of, and provides assistance to subordinates, in system requirements analysis, software/system design, software development, documentation, testing, training, implementation and maintenance of automated information systems. Determines what skills and resources (people, tools, equipment, methods, and procedures) are required to meet upcoming needs and develops and executes training, hiring and acquisition plans to ensure the right resources are available to meet those needs. Utilizes a thorough, comprehensive knowledge of AIS principles and procedures; knowledge of functional requirements for business areas and systems; expertise on industry standard tools, methods and procedures for requirements definition, and systems development necessary to direct assigned area(s) and subordinates; skill and ability to direct and supervise employees and perform planning and leadership practices and techniques to provide guidance and oversight of assigned area(s); and comprehensive knowledge of requirements definition functions associated with the design, development, documentation, test and integration of AIS requirements to meet customer needs. The incumbent is responsible for providing functional/systems/technical expertise for DLA business areas and systems; provides technical knowledge and expertise on industry-standard tools, methods and procedures for requirements definition and recommends implementation, revision, supplementation for the Agency. Serves on committees engaged in development of requests for proposals (RFPs) for information systems hardware and software and/or evaluating and benchmarking vendor proposals. For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. 1. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
