The MR Resource II role resides within our Manufacturing Reliability Team and serves as the Reliability Maintenance KWS Coach. As an MR Resource II on the Kellogg manufacturing team, we want you to take a new approach on what otherwise might be status quo. If you are an outside the box thinker and love to take an active approach in positive change, we need you to drive overall plant efficiency to improve OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), deliver cost savings through building capability in KWS (Kellogg Work Systems) methodologies and a continuous improvement mindset.

Working closely with Plant leadership and the Reliability Maintenance COE (Center of Excellence), you ll inspire and direct your teams, creating meaningful connections with employees at all levels of the organization.

Be part of history!! The Battle Creek plant was the first facility to manufacture the Corn Flake back in 1906 with 44 employees and was known as the Battle Creek Toasted Corn Flake Company.

HERE'S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU LL BE DOING

  • Tools for Success - Leading the Phase Progression Campaign for KWS while coaching the KWS center of excellence (COE) leaders and members while maintaining a balance between short term business delivery and longer-term strategic priorities and driving cost ideations and diagnostics
  • Drive Change with Continuous Improvement Efforts- Driving High-Value Projects along with tracking the pipeline of identified projects for visibility and Identifying process inefficiencies and sources of loss and coordinates/facilitates activities using cross-functional resources to eliminate them. Use your lean-chops like value stream mapping to design future state strategies!
  • Strategize to Win - Continually collaborating with hourly personnel and supervisors to identify and troubleshoot chronic and sporadic losses through data analysis
  • Impact Results - Extending the use of KWS improvement tools within Quality, Safety, and Food Safety and for supporting the Manufacturing Reliability process and driving standard work efforts and assists in the annual budgeting process
  • Empower Efficiency with a New Angle- Building capability in the Reliability Maintenance COE (Center of Excellence) team to effectively plan, schedule, and execute work; installing and sustaining the Breakdown Elimination and equipment classification systems. Additionally, Tracking sources of loss, improvements efforts and educates employees along with communicating progress
  • Reliability Maintenance Coach - Training and coaching KWS leadership and management skills for all plant employees and actively supporting the teams in the KWS/Manufacturing Reliability activities with a focus in the RM COE

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

Required

  • A passion for improvement and thinking outside the box!
  • Proven experience leading continuous improvement projects (Lean, TPM, Six Sigma, KWS, IWS, HPO)
  • Exceptional ability to influence and lead cross functional teams across all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • HS Diploma/GED and experience in Continuous Improvement initiatives

  • Owner s mindset and an entrepreneurial spirit!
  • Bachelor s degree in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering or technical or business field
  • Demonstrated ability to plan work and manage priorities while problem-solving
  • Knowledgeable of Reliability Maintenance systems and tools, familiar with win the day strategy and Subject Matter Expert in Breakdown Elimination Coaching
  • Green Belt Certified
  • Experienced in DMAIC processes
